After admiring the street type on my walks to work, I wanted to document and share what I had found. We often discuss the cultural impact of architecture and urban spaces but rarely the type and words we are exposed to on a daily basis. The type is particularly important because of how it shapes our cultural landscape. Out of these thoughts came the nerdy idea for villatype, a visual record and discussion of typography in the public domain.
